Welcome to the Poblete Dispatches

I’m a partner at Poblete Tamargo LLP, a firm I co-founded fourteen years ago, and President of the Global Liberty Alliance, a legal defense fund and education non-profit committed to defending free enterprise, fundamental individual rights, and the rule of law.

We write about liberty, law, and sovereignty in what many see as an increasingly disordered world—but disorder is not new. The world has always been a mix of good and evil, justice and injustice. The real question is: What are you prepared to do in it?

Poblete Dispatches offers sharp, experience-based commentary on topics that often fall outside the mainstream narrative—hostage diplomacy, foreign policy, sanctions, religious freedom, political risk, space law, and the moral consequences of emerging technologies. These are areas we’ve spent years working in. When we encounter topics beyond our expertise, we seek out those who know them best.

Written by Jason Poblete, a lawyer and longtime advocate for fundamental rights, individual liberty, and property rights, and Dr. Yleem Poblete, a national security expert and former senior U.S. government official, this publication draws on decades of combined experience in law, policy, and diplomacy to address some of the most consequential issues of our time.

Much of what we cover reflects work done behind the scenes—cases, negotiations, or debates rarely visible to the public. We aim to inform, provoke thought, and help readers navigate a world where truth, justice, and the rule of law often seem to be in short supply.
